A FANTASTIC WIN FOR OFF CAMPUS STUDENTS AT DEAKIN!!!

    Hi everybody,

Sometimes DUSA gets so caught up in its larger campaigns; the smaller ones can fall through the cracks. This was the case with the ongoing campaign to try and get a standard policy to be implemented regarding assignment submission for off campus students. The DCC were strong advocates in pushing for policy reform, however with the trimester campaign it was placed on the back burner for some time by the DUSA board.

Last week DUSA was able to convince the Deputy Vice- Chancellor Academic that there needed to be a policy that stated that the assignment would be considered handed in on the date the assignment was stamped, rather than the date the assignment was processed through Deakin Student Assessment. That way there was no questions as to when an assignment was submitted and students would not be punished if their assignment would take two weeks to get to DSA. The policy passed Academic board and is now able to be enforced.

So if you have any questions or arguments with you lecturer regarding the due date, you now know that it will be considered on time if your assignment is stamped at your local post office on the due date of the assignment!

    Thanks
    Kali Watson
    DUSA President
